The Trumpchi Shadow Leopard, also known as the Trumpchi EMPOW55, made its first public appearance at the 2020 Guangzhou International Auto Show. It is based on the GAC Trumpchi GPMA (GAC Global Platform Modular Architecture) platform and is the first sports sedan under this platform, positioned in a compact class with a drag coefficient as low as 0.26Cd.

Trumpchi EMPOW car Shadow Leopard is a sporty sedan based on the GPMA architecture. It adopts the brand's latest design language in terms of appearance and offers two design styles for consumers to choose from; In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with the new 1.5T engine of Julang Power in the early stage, and a 2.0T version may be added in the future.

In terms of appearance, GAC Trumpchi Shadow Leopard adopts the design language of "light plastic surface", providing two exterior styles: the sports version and the luxury version. Specifically, the front face of the sports model features a large hexagonal intake grille with a straight waterfall design inside. At the same time, there are two blue polygonal decorations inside the grille, similar to fighter jet air intakes, and they are decorated with carbon fiber materials. The sharp shaped front headlights are embedded with two vertically arranged LED light strips, officially known as "all LED sharp headlights". In addition, the interior of the air guide grooves on both sides is decorated with knife blades, which not only adds a sporty personality but also optimizes aerodynamic performance.

The GAC empow car is equipped with a brand new third-generation 1.5T GDI engine from Julang Power, with a maximum power of 130kW and a peak torque of 270N · m. With GCCS technology as the core, it integrates dual channel turbocharging, overhead water-cooled intercooling, high-pressure injection, large inertia balance shaft, intelligent thermal management, and low friction technology, resulting in a fuel consumption of as low as 5.7L per 100 kilometers. The transmission efficiency is as high as 96%, and the shifting time is only 0.2 seconds. In the 0-100km/h acceleration power test, the final measured fastest acceleration time from 0-100km/h was 6.95 seconds. With the support of the GPMA architecture, Yingbao has achieved a self owned brand with a minimum center of mass of 550mm and a wind resistance as low as 0.26cd, exceeding the application of 66.5% high-strength steel. Coupled with the excellent lightweight design ability of the GPMA architecture, it achieves a perfect combination of safety and lightweight. GAC Trumpchi EMPOW55 Shadow Leopard has four commonly used driving modes, namely Comfort mode, ECO energy-saving mode, Sport sport mode, and Sport+speed mode. In Sport+extreme speed mode, the vehicle not only supports ejection starting, but also has a faster gearbox upshift speed and less power loss, which can increase the time by about 1 second compared to normal starting. The officially announced GAC Trumpchi EMPOW gasoline Vehicles Shadow Leopard 1.5T model has a zero acceleration time of 6.95 seconds.
